About the Trainers

Antonio De La Torre

During his studies at ETHZ, Antonio focused on cryptography and machine learning. At the same time, he worked for BDO in the Risk Advisory Services department, where he was responsible for developing software to address issues arising in client projects and to improve their cybersecurity infrastructure. It was there that he was first introduced to the world of investigations, working on money laundering cases, fraud analysis and tracking cryptocurrency transactions on the Ethereum and Bitcoin blockchains.

Working closely with the cybersecurity team, his interest in the field grew significantly. After deciding to pursue a full-time career in security, he joined Compass Security in 2020 as a Security Analyst. Deeply passionate about problem solving and investigation, he developed his skills and became an experienced OSINT practitioner by participating in numerous CTFs and OSINT-for-good events.

Ivano Somaini

Ivano Somaini completed his Master's degree with a specialisation in IT Security at the ETHZ. Ivano Somaini joined Compass Security in 2011, where he leads a team of ethical hackers and security analysts in Zurich. In 2015 he was trained as an Advanced Social Engineer by Christopher Hadnagy, one of the world's best social engineers. A year later, he received further training in Open Source Intelligence from Michael Bazzell, the former FBI undercover agent and recognised OSINT expert. Today, he teaches Social Engineering and Open Source Intelligence at various universities in Switzerland and gives OSINT workshops for journalists and law enforcement. In 2024 he founded OSINT Switzerland with other colleagues.
